Get to Know the Trumbullplex Zine Library
Hundreds of zines. Recline on a comfortable couch milk crate and look through them. This one was written in a lonely bedroom in Toronto. That one was assembled in a bustling copy shop in Milwaukee. These were shelved in a vegetarian grocery store in Pontiac. Those were filed in an anarchist book shop in the Cass Corridor. All of them – and hundreds more – have made their way to the Trumbullplex, a housing collective and theater in Detroit’s Woodbridge neighborhood.
Please email trumbullplex@gmail.com if you wish to donate money or get involved!!
The Zine Librarians brought our collection to the Detroit Urban Craft Fair 2010 and created a zine lounge.
The Trumbullplex Zine Library at the Allied Media Conference 2011!!!
The cuties from the Trumbullplex Zine Library are going to set up an area where folks at the conference can come sit and relax—and read zines from our collection. Folks from our library will be there to answer questions and talk with. We believe that zines are an important part of independent media we think it would be great for everyone to have the opportunity to look through a huge collection of zines on a very wide range of topics. Zines remain one of the most accessible media to share ideas and thoughts in that anyone can make one without connections to large publishers or other corporate enterprises.
