CJ Boyd, Joey Molinaro, The Wire Eyes, The Restless Days, Small Noises

CJ BOYD- Equal parts ambient and virtuosic, CJ Boyd’s bass playing builds upon a foundation of great bassists like Charles Mingus and Edgar Meyer. C.J. Boyd’s aesthetic sensibility seeks to wed minimalism with a chamber-esque maximalism. Often flowing from singular, meditative bass lines into explosive, layered, and hugely complex walls of sound, CJ masterfully orchestrates waves of bass loops coupled with Jazz-driven improvisational prowess. Utilizing only various bass instruments and some human-mouth-sounds, creating these lush arrangements is no small feat. And I tell you what, I has sex after his last show here while listening to his record and it was amazing. Definitely love makin music.

JOEY MOLINARO- NYC-based composer, violinist, and fiddler Joey Molinaro first gained attention as a member of the seven-piece experimental chamber-grind outfit “Basilica.” As an acoustic or electric solo artist, he conjures a torrent of riffs over a two-boot foot percussion flurry.

THE WIRE EYES- Detroit really good ambient shoe gaze, or something. But not boring.

THE RESTLESS DAYS- Detroit surf/ambient/post punk

SMALL NOISES- Detroit surf/post punk

About trumbullplex

Mission statement circa 1993: We have formed the Trumbullplex; also know as the Wayne Association for Collective Housing, to create a space where we control our own lives. We are a not-for-profit project dedicated to self-sufficiency in all facets of our lives; in our housing, our work, and our energy. We support other projects that share our goals of dismantling racism, sexism, homophobia, and the oppression of poor people through activities in our theater and housing collective. We want to create a positive environment for revolutionary change in which economic and social relationships are based on mutual aid and the absence of hierarchy. Through consensus decision making and full participation in carrying out our decisions, we create the circumstances and expectations for collective empowerment. Ultimately, we strive to realize these goals through respect and constructive communication among ourselves. Theater Collective Mission Statement We partner with the Trumbullplex residents, neighbors, artists, people of conscience, and any potential allies to build a safe space for sharing art and ideas free from oppression.

  1. Ceci says:

The basic reason binhed this outrageous decision is that there has not been enought enforcement of provincial policies prohibiting development on hazardous dyanmic beaches of the Great Lakes. Had these policies been applied, the development could have been built on a more appropriate place on the other side of the road. The reasons for this non-appliance of policy, which is intended to both protect natural areas and keep buildings away from dangerous sites, is the lack of consern for the environment by local elected municipal representatives. If they used their power to exclude the designated dynsmaic beach area from Fort Erie’s designated settlement area- the OMB would not even have the power to be involved. This shows the need for environmentally concerned people to run as candidates- and for others to help them against their developer cronies!
