When you think of the Trumbullplex, you might not think of it as a place to make a facial cleanser, find a crocheted bear, or visit a lemonade stand. But chances are, you do think of it as the home of all that is unique, independent, and creative. And from the skillshare, to the pop-up shop, to the refreshments, everything about Small Craft’s August 11 event is one-of-a-kind, no-strings-attached, and do-it-yourself. If those are your values, this is your Saturday!
August’s skillshare is entitled Scrub-a-Dub-Dub! A DIY Guide to Facial Cleansers. Join Liz Drabik, owner of Aromaholic: Intoxicating Bodycare, in making a simple and inexpensive facial scrub using all-natural ingredients. We’ll start the class with a guide to the basic ingredients, and discuss which are best suited to different skin types. Participants will then get to choose from a variety of materials such as clays, ground nuts and seeds, base oils, and essential oils in crafting their own unique scrub.
The day will also feature a special guest pop-up shop by Chuppy Love. Only the coldest heart could resist this line of cute little amigurumi characters, crocheted by local graphic designer and crafter Genna Cowsert. All of Genna’s bears, lambs, monsters, and other creatures are handmade, using allergen-free fiberfill and Eco-Fi eco-friendly felt. We’ve enjoyed Genna’s participation in many of our past events, and we’re proud to showcase her adorable aesthetic and fine craftsmanship.
As always, we’ll be offering free coffee, tea, and homemade vegan baked goods. And this month, we’ll also feature a kids’ lemonade stand! Ramona, 6, and Henry, 3, will be making and serving ice-cold lemonade at pay-as-you-wish prices. Stop by their stand and quench your summer thirst, while supporting an early education in independent business.
Admission to our pop-up shop is free. There is a $5 materials fee for those who take part in the skillshare.

I joined ealreir today, and I might take one of the cooking classes. I’m awful at cooking, and it would be fun to learn a new skill and meet new people.

I simply watend to appreciate you once again. I do not know the things that I might have created in the absence of the smart ideas shown by you concerning this theme. It truly was a very horrifying matter in my view, however , observing a specialized form you treated it took me to weep for gladness. I will be grateful for the advice and wish you recognize what a powerful job you are always getting into instructing people today through the use of your webpage. More than likely you’ve never come across any of us.
