Small Craft Skillshare: Copper Etched Jewelry and Animal Rights Activism

July Small CraftSpend Saturday afternoon making copper etched jewelry and supporting animal rights activism. Also: drinking coffee and tea, enjoying vegan treats, hanging out with friends, and exploring a pop-up shop filled with upcycled craft supplies!

On July 14, Small Craft will host a skillshare with Christine Wagner of  Design Specimen. Christine makes copper etched jewelry as part of a larger practice of animal rights activism, and she’ll be bringing both her techniques and her message to the Trumbullplex.

For a $5 materials fee, you’ll be given everything you need to make an etched copper pendant:

  • A pre-cut and pre-drilled copper disk
  • Pre-printed image transfer (there will be a couple of design options to choose from, crafty and vegan messages)
  • Q-Tips
  • Rubber Gloves
  • Safety Glasses
  • Jump Rings
  • Sandpaper
  • Cording for hanging pendant on
  • How-To Packet

When the skillshare ends, you’ll bring home your own handmade pendant, along with a renewed sense of compassion for animals.

You can pre-register for your spot here.

Christine will also have a small selection of goods for sale.

I would be happy to test drive your ring if you still need someone. I see you have seavrel volunteers already :) I have 3 boys under 5 so if it survives 1 of my days I think you could safely call it a success!

food gifts in a jar are always polaupr and welcome by most people. you can do cookie or brownie mixes in a jar, hot cocoa mix in a jar or soup mixes in a jar. i make bean soup mix in a jar by layering a variety of dry beans in a quart canning jar and adding a small zip lock packet of dried onions, ham or beef flavor soup base (like powdered boullion). i tie a label on the jar with instructions (1 jar soup mix and 4 jars water). i make my own labels and personalize them. another welcome gift is hand made candles. i buy small glass or tin containers or use pint canning jars and melt, color and scent the wax and pour, again addind a handmade personal label. candle colors and scents are available at any craft store.
